Stacey Hogbin and I just got back from speaking at the Unlisted Summit in Banff, Alberta. It proved to be a little more than just a business conference. With the select group of talented individuals selected to attend; a lot was acquired in the three days.
Though the sessions were informative, the meat of the knowledge was gained at the Banff pub… where strangers became friends, and friends business partners to be.

I am back in Edmonton after a year of all years in this sport I so love. I will start from the back and work my way up. Olympics are a no-go, I placed third at the trials with a dismal 2.16 jump (Mike Mason won with a jump of 2.21m and may be representing our country at the games, where I wish him some serious kick butt luck!). Please excuse my lack of posts re: track & field. The year is going well. I returned from quite an adventure in the West Indies and competed at an acceptable level. I have quite a lot of work left to do in order to achieve a spot on any team, but I have opted to stay home and train in preparation for our Olympic trails at the beginning of July. I look forward to re-capping the entire year at the conclusion of the season. However until then, I am to remain as focused as possible while I trudge onward on this solo quest to self contentment in sport!
I began my 2008 track and field season in Southern California. I jumped at the Azusa Invitational on Friday April 18th. The weather was awesome 28 degrees Celsius, and though there were numerous entries in the competition (30-35) the long wait did not have negative effects as it does in colder climates. I jumped 2.20m and had a good crack at 2.25m winning the competition. a good start in my books. Read the rest of this entry »
